Values

This week we learned several different things about culture. One that stuck out most to me was values. Mr.Sal gave examples in class about values. Some of the examples were going to college, grades, and competitiveness. These values explain my high schools culture perfectly.I can guarantee if someone were to ask a student at my highschool about the culture, the exact response would have something to do with the competitive lifestyle. At my high school everything is about grades. Students care more about te grade they received then the knowledge they could walk away from the class with. It's u fortunate but it's a huge value at my school, and turning into a huge value around the world.

  1. I agree with you, everyone here is more concerned about our grades then what we take away from the class

  2. It is very interesting that you gave these examples. It is really true and these examples show that almost all of the things we do are bases on something else, our values. Our values are like a tree's roots.

  3. I think you make a great connection from American culture to the values in our school but I think you jump too far when you say that it is turning into a huge value around the world. You would need to show evidence of that.
