Socialization

This week in class we learned about socialization. Socialization is the process by which we are influenced in te world. As a "human" we use symbols to express things. For example I look at money to be a symbol of success. However, a monkey would think of it as a piece of paper, that he would probably rip up. Money has no value to monkeys. Also, conscionsness is something a "human" has. Conscionsness goes along with the value of being aware of something. Going back to the money idea, "humans", like myself, are aware of the fact that money means something.
Another factor is that animals have instinct. For example before a big storm my dog will hide underneath my moms desk. However, I won't know there is a storm until the alarms on the golf course by my house go off. Humans and animals differ in many ways and it is all a part of socialization.
